Oxford City Council is the democratically elected body for Oxford. In partnership with others, it provides a wide range of services for approximately 150,000 residents (amongst them more than 30,000 full-time students), 83,000 people who work in Oxford and around nine million people who visit the city every year.
South Lanarkshire Council is one of Scotland’s 32 unitary authorities of Scotland and borders the south-east of the City of Glasgow. The council was operating an ageing fleet of road marking vehicles that were operational for only part of the year.
Somerford Equipments’ De-Mountable body was the ideal solution for the council to use a single vehicle for many different applications, and was commissioned as part of a major fleet replacement programme.
Scotland’s most innovative public sector partnership, the Ayrshire Roads Alliance, delivers shared Council roads and transportation services to communities across East and South Ayrshire.
The Alliance is governed by a joint committee of elected members from the two Councils and it delivers services including roads maintenance, winter maintenance, design and infrastructure, traffic and transportation and road safety. The Alliance have recently grown their capabilities by adding a purpose build Somerford Equipment road marking trailer to their fleet.
Hi-Way Servcies are a road marking contractor with over 25 years of experience working with a variety of clients, from major organisations to local schools and businesses. Somerford were tasked with providing Hi-Way Services a SoloMark Unit, the first of which to be done on a Volvo FL chassis.
QMS are a two-generation, family run business offering a complete portfolio of line marking and surface treatment solutions. Somerford Equipment was tasked with refurbishing the 16-tonne thermoplastic screed truck.
